Events in July ( and one in early August)

Tuesday 21st July, Calderdale & Kirklees 999 Call for the NHS, first working meeting, 7.30pm at Toby Carvery, Ainlee Top

We’ll elect management committee officers and make an immediate action plan.

Cuts mean post code lottery22nd July. Greater Huddersfield CCG AGM, 5-7pm at Greenhead Park Cafe, near Trinity St, Huddersfield HD1 4HS

5-6pm – local community groups demonstrating how they work for the CCG providing/supporting NHS services.

6-7pm is the formal meeting with questions from the public. We have a lot of questions we’d like to hear the CCG’s answers to.

25th July 2015, Campaigners’ Workshop – NHS England’s Five Year Forward View, 11am-4pm, Dewsbury Women’s Centre, 7 Wellington St, Dewsbury WF13 1LY

Presentation by Anna Athow, retired surgeon and BMA member, on NHS England’s 5 year forward view. NHS England’s boss, Simon Stevens, previously worked for America’s biggest health insurance company, United Health. Funny how his 5 Year Forward View is all about importing United Health’s systems into our NHS. You can sign up here to attend.

Getting there

The bus station is at the junction of the A638, South Street and Church Street. You can then walk up the hill to Dewsbury Women’s Centre at 7 Wellington St.
The train station has a large car park and is the place to put the car, although charges apply on Saturdays.
If you are thinking of using the car park, please allow yourself time to network. It is a short walk down the hill to the venue. For those coming by train, trains run very regularly to and from Leeds, if you have to change there.

10:30am to 11:00am arrive, drinks, welcome and book lunch (if you are not bringing a packed lunch) menu attached. Prompt start at 11am.
11:00am to 12:30 Seminar by Anna Athow
12:30 to 1:30 Lunch and networking
1:30pm to 2:30pm session 1 tbc
2:30 to 3:30 session 2 tbc
3:30 plenary/feedback from sessions/ followed by networking and close

Weds 5th August Calderdale 38 Degrees NHS Campaign Public Meeting, 6.30pm at the 3 Pigeons, Halifax

Holly Lynch, the new Halifax MP, will be there to answer questions about the future of Calderdale Royal Hospital and NHS and social care in Halifax.
