On Saturday 9th April, from 11am-1pm, we are running an info stall about the 14th April Public “consultation” meeting on the proposed hospital cuts, that Calderdale Clinical Commissioning Group will be holding at Northbridge Leisure Centre.
It’s basically a question of handing out leaflets to members of the public. (If you don’t feel confident answering people’s questions, you can hand them over to old hands who’ve been doing this for a while.)
If it’s wet, we’ll decamp to the arcade entrance to the Market.
Here is Calderdale Clinical Commissioning Group info about the public meeting:
There are also two formal public meetings to be held on:
– Thursday, April 14th, 6.00pm – 8.00pm at North Bridge Leisure Centre, Halifax, HX3 6TE, and on;
– Monday, April 18th, 6.00pm – 8.00pm at the John Smith’s Stadium, Huddersfield, HD1 6PG.
British Sign Language (BSL) and palantypist services will be provided. The venues are disabled friendly. Anyone who has additional needs, or who wants to check that the venue meets their needs, should contact 01484 464212 or email email@example.com.
For health and safety reasons, attendance is restricted at both venues. However if public demand exceeds capacity, additional public meetings with an independent Chair may be arranged. To ensure as many people have access as possible, the meetings will be live streamed to help anyone who cannot attend the meeting hear directly what is said. There will be a presentation about the proposed changes followed by a question and answer session.
Questions can be submitted in advance of the meeting to firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone 01484 464212. Contact details should be included. People will also have an opportunity to ask questions at all of the planned meetings and can submit questions in advance.
There are 200 seats at Northbridge Leisure Centre and standing room for 100. According to a tweet from the Clinical Commissioning Group, all questions will be live and from the floor.
