The next meeting of Calderdale and Kirklees Joint Health Scrutiny Committee is at 10.30am on 7th Sept at Halifax Town Hall.
It will consider all four NHS organisations’ and Councils’ responses to the Sec of State.
The Joint Chairs have written to the Secretary of State about the importance of public scrutiny of the responses, and will write back to him after the 7 Sept meeting with their take on all the responses.
The letter says that as they have not been able to meet in public to discuss the responses,
“the Joint Committee has not yet been able to come to an agreed position on the proposals. One of the important characteristics of the Joint Committee is that our meetings are held in public, and members of the public are able to contribute to our discussions and listen to our deliberations.”
Their letter is downloadable here (pdf).
On 10th September CK999 will be in the House of Commons with other NHS Campaign groups, giving evidence about flaws in the process of referring significant NHS change proposals to the Secretary of State, with the aim of encouraging MPs to push for improvements, which are sorely needed,
More news on that soon.
