NHS cuts and sell offs film – free screenings mid-October in Halifax, Huddersfield and Wakefield

Free screenings of a new documentary, Under the Knife, are coming up in Halifax, Huddersfield and Wakefield in mid-October.

If you’d like to see the film, you need to book (free) tickets online in advance:

  • Square Chapel, Halifax, Wednesday 16th October 2019, 8pm
  • University of Huddersfield Medical School, LT1, Wednesday 16th October 2019, 7pm
  • Theatre Royal Wakefield, Friday 18th October 2019, 7pm

The 90-minute documentary tells the story of how the NHS has arrived at its present-day crisis, having been systematically dismantled and undermined by successive governments over the past three decades.

The film is narrated by award-winning actor, Alison Steadman.

Calderdale Councillor Colin Hutchinson said,

“I think Under the Knife succeeds pretty well in making a strong story. It includes some coverage of the Calderdale Royal Hospital /Huddersfield Royal Infirmary reconfiguration, with some familiar faces.”
